Royz et Vous
Words by Zann Cai

With people getting increasingly well-travelled, the founders of Royz et Vous saw that the Muslim community was seeking more western options. Having the young Muslim generation in mind, Royz et Vous – “you and me” in French, began building their Halal empire by setting up the very first branch of their 100% Muslim-owned concept in Bali Lane, where the Muslim community has prominent presence.

Royz et Vous takes pride in their coffee and Halal western cuisine, which gained traction fast. Some long-standing menu items that one should not miss out on when visiting Royz et Vous include their Signature Prawns & Clams – succulent seafood to accompany al dente spaghetti that has been generously coated with a spicy cream base. Texture, richness and punch all in one!

One can also explore interesting fusion options like their rendang duck pasta – fettuccine in their aromatic homemade rendang cream sauce and topped with nicely charred grilled smoked duck.

Within just a year of operation since opening, Royz et Vous had to relocate to their current bigger space in Telok Ayer due to their overwhelming crowd. It has been a learning journey for the team and this journey has helped them crystallize the goal for their brand. Quoting their vision, “Royz et Vous is not just about foods but connecting with the people – an integration of different social, community and culture values.” With this common direction, Royz et Vous decided to go back to where it first began in Arab Street. It went on to set up their second branch at Sultan Gate last year in 2019 to make their food more accessible to their Muslim customers.

With customers’ satisfaction high on their list of priorities, Royz et Vous believes in upskilling their people to further delight their customers. They will be sending one of their managers for the SG Barista Training Course – conducted by School of Coffee, supported by Employment and Employability Institute (e2i), to learn more about not just gourmet coffee, but our traditional local drinks as well.
